In 2012 Ikepod announced at Baselworld their collaborative effort with renowned graffiti artist and designer KAWS. The reconceptualised Horizon model, released at Coletteâs in Paris, was a union of haute horlogerie and contemporary art. Marc Newsonâs classic pebble-shaped design with seamless integrated bezel references astrophysicsâ theoretical âevent horizonâ, which is the boundary around a black hole from which nothing, even light, can escape. The 44mm diameter automatic watch featured a dial with KAWS iconic âX Eyeâ motif for the hands, and âChomperâ teeth design for the hour markers. Produced in four versions with red, white and black dials these unique timepieces captured KAWS style in an understated and playful way.
